About P.A.I.D.
The Professional Association for Industrial Distribution (P.A.I.D.)
provides a forum for the association of students, faculty, former
students, and
people involved in the practice of Industrial Distribution. P.A.I.D.
was organized at Eastern Michigan University as a way for students
to get involved with the faculty, industry, and fellow students. Each
year P.A.I.D. organizes social events, business meetings, social
dinners, graduation parties, and guest speakers to provide an
environment outside of the classroom to meet industry personnel,
faculty, and each other.
Under its constitution, P.A.I.D. has four main goals:
1. To develop the character of students pursuing a career in the practice of Industrial Distribution.
2. To develop and refine the skills necessary for a career in the Industrial Distribution field.
3. To coordinate services and activities for the students in the Industrial Distribution Program.
4. To act as liaison between the students, faculty, and people involved in the Practice of Industrial Distribution.
Membership is highly encouraged and open to all Industrial Distribution majors. Membership dues are $25 per semester. A full membership in P.A.I.D. provides the following privileges: representing the society, attending all general association functions, scholarship opportunities, resume workshops, and the chance to attend tradeshows along with unlimited access to career advancements.
